Freddie is a very experienced Chartered Physiotherapist, having worked in NHS Tayside for over 30 years.
He specialises in Spinal Care, and has completed the McKenzie International Institute Diploma, the highest award given by this world wide Spinal Care organisation. Freddie has been involved with the McKenzie institute for many years having contributed to several published papers on specific exercises for low back pain.
He also has a keen interest in Orthopaedics, and has completed the “Society of Orthopaedic Medicine” postgraduate programme to Advanced Practice level in 2010.
Freddie also has a strong interest in persistent pain, and has previously worked within the Ninewells Pain Clinic. He has an interest in helping people cope and live with the challenges of persistent pain, using both exercise therapy and awareness of the larger drivers of persistent pain, which an understanding of can help recovery.
Freddie also uses steroid Injection therapy as appropriate. He passed his training course in 1998 and was the first Physiotherapist in Tayside to offer steroid injections for a range of joint conditions such as frozen shoulder.
He can arrange and administer steroid injections within the clinic, by discussing with your GP. This can be very effective for some joint and muscle conditions.
Professional Registration is with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) number – PH44128.
